“Food for Thought”

“Greatness is revealed not in vast miraculous actions, but in daily positive attitudes.”  Greatness comes in the sweet-spirit attitudes of humility, forgiveness, a perspective from God resulting in grace toward others (Phil.2:1-11).

When we have a wrong attitude, we are looking at life…humanly.

God makes the heart right when we are able to sense God’s hand in our situation, and can accept His plan…even if there is evil involved.

“God is more interested in my character, than my comfort”

“What we think about God, is the most important thing about us.”

We can have a shallow view of God formed by the culture.

We can have a high, lofty view of God, if we let the scriptures

form our view of God.

This relationship will be meaningful, pure, satisfying and deep.

The church today has surrendered her once lofty concept of God,

lost the sense of the majesty of God,

and lost our sense of His Presence in our lives.

Hebrews 12:28

Heb. 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

{let us have grace… or, let us hold fast to grace}

Serve is translated… “worship”… in other places in scripture.

Acceptably is “well-pleasing”

“There is nothing that Jesus has, that He won’t one day

share with us, the righteous, the saints.

John Calvin

John 4: 23

“But the hour cometh, and now is,

when the true worshipers

shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:

For the Father seeketh such to worship Him.”

John 7:18

“He that speaketh of Himself

seeketh his own glory:

but he that seeketh His glory that sent him,

the same is true,

and no unrighteousness is in him.”
